ICAITS ACCREDITATION APPLICATION

Institutional applications for ICAITS Accreditation should be completed and submitted as a PDF attachment to info@icaits.org. All 14 categories and each question must be addressed, and the application fee must be submitted (here: https://www.icaits.org/schedule-of-fees-and-costs/) in order for the application to be considered.

 I. Institutional Information

a. What is the institution’s name, address, website URL, and size (counting all enrolled learners, full or part time)?
b. Does the institution fully align with the ICAITS Values and Affirmations?

c. What authorization does the institution to operate in its state?
d. Provide a brief history of the institution.
e. Has the institution pursued accreditation before, and if so with what outcome?

 II. Mission and Governance

a. What is the institution’s mission, and how is it publicly communicated?
b. How does governance ensure academic independence and integrity?
c. Describe the governing board’s structure, responsibilities, and oversight role.
d. How does leadership ensure alignment between mission, strategy, and operations?

III. Academic Quality and Programs

a. What programs are offered, and how do they align with the institution’s mission?
b. How are learning outcomes defined, assessed, and improved?
c. What processes ensure academic rigor and consistency across programs?
d. How are faculty qualified for the courses they teach?

 IV. Faculty Qualifications and Oversight

a. What are the minimum qualifications for faculty?
b. How does the institution evaluate faculty performance?
c. What professional development opportunities are provided?
d. How is instructional quality monitored?

 V. Student Learning and Outcomes

a. How does the institution measure student achievement (completion, retention, etc.)?
b. What evidence demonstrates that students are achieving learning outcomes?
c. How is assessment data used for continuous improvement?

 VI. Student Services and Support

a. What academic and non-academic support services are available?
b. How are students informed about available resources?
c. How does the institution support online or distance learners?

 VII. Admissions and Recruitment

a. What are the admissions criteria?
b. How does the institution ensure truthful and ethical recruitment practices?
c. What information is provided to prospective students?

 VIII. Financial Stability and Resources

a. Provide evidence of financial stability and sustainability.
b. How are resources allocated to support academic programs?
c. What financial controls and audits are in place?

 IX. Institutional Effectiveness

a. How does the institution evaluate its overall effectiveness?
b. What key performance indicators are tracked?
c. How are results used to improve operations and programs?

 X. Distance Education (if applicable)

a. How is the quality of online education ensured?
b. What technologies are used to support learning?
c. How is student identity verified?

 XI. Policies and Compliance

a. Provide policies for:

  iii. grading and appeals
  iv. transfer of credit
b. How does the institution ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards?

a. What information is publicly available to students (catalog, costs, outcomes)?
b. How does the institution ensure accuracy of published information?

a. Describe the institution’s student complaint process.
b. How are complaints tracked and resolved?

a. Provide examples of changes made based on assessment or feedback.
